Husain at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi, India (1996). Gupta was further Visiting Professor at L'Ecole des Beaux-arts, at the French Government residency in Paris, France (2004) and has participated in the Taipei Biennial, China (2006); the Havanna Biennale, Cuba (2003) as well as in the Venice Biennale where he was short listed for the Artes Mundi International Visual Arts Prize 2005. The artist has an upcoming solo exhibition at Pinchuk Art Centre, Kiev, Ukraine and his works will be included in the group exhibition at The Saatchi Gallery, The Empire Strikes Back: Indian Art Today, London England in 2010.
