Susanna Vorst will present a talk about collection, passion, and learning, detailing for the audience her own rich and varied experiences in the art world, from the initial inspirations that led her to the fascinating world of art, how her taste has evolved over the years, how art has touched her life and become her life-long passion.

Susanna Vorst has been an avid art collector for many years. After taking an informal interest in art, she was eventually invited to join Kunstbeeld, a major art magazine in the Netherlands. Recognized for her keen eye, she was encouraged to continue to develop a career in art, eventually starting her own business in 1983, dealing first with Russian art and later with Chinese contemporary art. A decade later, she was invited to join Koninklijke Bijenkorf Beheer (KBB), which in 1947 became one of the first companies in the Netherlands to begin a contemporary collection. In recent years, Mrs. Vorst has continued to build up her own personal collection through her passionate interest in new and exciting emerging areas of contemporary art.
